Change & The Passage of Time

Time is truly flying by, it’s hard to believe sometimes. I have been more than a little nostalgic lately with the upcoming wedding and all the digging through old photos. My sweet dad came to visit this weekend and that made me nostalgic as well. We talked of all the trips to Canyon he made over the years and all the fun we had, I truly enjoyed showing him around Alpine and the surrounding area.

So much of life is about our choices and where they lead us. I have to say that I have been truly blessed to have parents who encouraged me to make whatever choices felt right for me. Neither of my parents care much for change, they are not adventure seekers; they crave stability and security. This is how I was raised as well, rooted and cautious.

This move has stretched me in ways I didn’t know that I could stretch. It’s challenged me and it has changed me. I am now more than a little aware that we can completely change our lives at any moment. We have choices and we can choose whatever we like to. I’m no longer so afraid of change, I am learning to embrace the challenge of change. To look it square in the eye with the attitude of, “say when.” I have found my wings.

Sweet friends, the time will pass. Make sure you are doing life the way you want with the people you want. Choose your life and the people who are in it. If at any moment, you find yourself feeling stuck, please know that you are not. The choices aren’t always easy, they usually require great sacrifice, but the flip side is spending life in a place you don’t want to be. Find that thing that lights you up and pursue it with all your heart with the people you love most by your side. It will never be easy, but it will always be worth it. Much love and finding your wings sweet friends.
