I have struggled with how to post all of our wedding photos and have been hesitatnt to share them in one large dump. Being a story teller, I want to share the stories behind the photos rather than post 1000 photos all at once. My sentimentality won’t allow me to post without sharing the why. I decided that each month, on our anniversary I would release a photo of Jarrett and I and a photo that represents a sentimental moment and share the story of them. Two months in and here are two of my favorites.
The photo of Jarrett and I was taken during our vow exchange. We had cried our eyes out at this point and the laughter was a welcome relief. As I have shared prior, Jarrett surprised me on the morning of our wedding by revealing 4 letters he had that I had written him in high school. In this photo, Jarrett was quoting one of the letters back to me in which I said, “I have a tendency to overreact and blow things out of proportion.” It was true 20 years ago and it’s still true today. It was a much needed break in a very serious ceremony and I enjoyed the flashback and the laugh.
The other photo represents several special things. My bouquet for one. Bryan Barrios with Amarillo Classic Events did my florals and they were incredible. I have worked with Amarillo Classic Events for many events for WT over the years but planning my wedding with them was a dream. Lorraine Wilhelm and Bryan made the day extra special by gifting me the peonies in my bouquet. They are my favorite flowers but were outside my wedding budget, but they wanted to make sure I had them. Such a thoughtful, beautiful gesture. The beautiful gold hexagon arch and the florals in the photo of our ceremony were Bryan’s handywork as well and I could not love them more! I gave Bryan the vision of greenery and shades of pink and he ran with it exceedingly well!
The trinkets tied to my bouquet are representative of my Meamaw and Pawpaw who have both passed away. The horse pin was a tie tack of my Pawpaw’s that his parents gave to him when he went to New Mexico Military Institute. He served in the Army and was drafted for the Korean War but remained state side at Camp Chaffe in Fort Smith, Arkansas. It is a reminder of the service and sacrifice that he made for our country and the precious gift he was in my life. The rings belonged to my Meamaw, the first was the wedding ring my Pawpaw gave her when they were first married, and the one with the gold cross she wore on her pinky for as far back as I can remember. Carrying them with me on our special day meant the world to me. Here’s to two months of marriage and getting to share my sentimentality. Much love sweet friends.
